Now that I am blogging six weeks to be precise, I come across a plethora of content on the web on how best to beat the system, what I mean by that is, things I can do to make my blog ‘LandedYesterday’ make more visible in search engine results to get more traffic, beat the competition in my niche, monetize my blog and etc. Everyone has an opinion on how to make your blog a great blog. If you ask me, all you need to do is create a rich content, identify your demographics and keep it up, the traffic will come. Having said that, there are a couple of things you can do to help you get there, one of them is to create good titles for your blog posts. The King of Social media gives you a sneak peak on how to nail the titles for your blog post. As an exercise, I have identified the five best blog titles from my favorite Tech blogs.
Best headphones for under $100 – This title may not be 6-8 words, but certainly it is very search engine friendly. I like that it’s short (typable) and does not use common words that users often use while searching, it’s not very specific and at the same time it is not too broad.
HTC One Launch Delayed Until Late April – What I like about this title is that, it gives you information before you even start reading the article. It is search engine friendly, because it got the key words from the content of the article.
Apple’s ‘break-even’ iTunes business now estimated to make $2B a year – This title might be wordy over the recommended number of words for the title, but it conveys information for readers to get interested and click to read more. The author has cleverly given a gist of the article in the title to intrigue the reader.
US Universities Rankings vs. Graduate Program? What to Consider? – This title is great, because it would be something I would exactly search for and has a lot of common keywords within the niche.
Nexus 4 Wireless Charger review – This is short and sweet, right to the point and very searchable. The author has chosen to be very specific with the title because of the nature of the article and rightfully so. It has all the key components, what, why and how.
I have chosen the above 5 titles because each of them is unique in their own way like any title should be.
