Having addressed working hard in the past two tips on blogging for money, it seemed fitting to me to address when to take a break.
Indeed I may not be the right person to address that.
On my plate at the moment – writing a sermon (I am the full-time pastor for a start up church in Silicon Valley), reading the final draft of a dissertation (I am a dissertation mentor), providing feedback to a new professor (I mentor new professors for an online university), and packing my bags to meet a friend to drive to Sacramento to participate in a 50Km fund-raising run. This morning I had a b’fast meeting and I am writing this while waiting for a lunch meeting.
My good friend, when he has days that are especially productive, calls them ‘Bill Belew’ days. I *can* get a lot done. It does not always mean I do things well as I might like. I do, however, always give my best.
I have been on extended cruises to the Caribbean and to Alaska. My son was a national class swimmer in college and had meets throughout the country. I attended all of them. And never missed a beat in my blogging.
Repeat after me – “Thank God for the scheduler.”
Indeed the days leading up to such events were a bit harder, but I still got things done and I enjoyed being on the pool side or watching glaciers crash.
Learn how to use the scheduler and take a break from time to time.
Come to think of it. I need a break now.
