Blogging for money and Web Traffic – tip #48 – Good content strategy #6

Blogging for money tip #47 – Good content strategy #6 is about writing content that solicits comments.

Comments are important because each time someone leaves a comment at your post it changes the post, meaning the search engines will have to come back to find out why.

Enough legitimate comments at a post will cause that post to climb the page rankings.

So, what’s the best way to get comments at a post?

I am glad that I am sitting behind a computer screen far away from you, the reader, in distance and time (this post will go on Dec. 20th and I am writing it on November 9th) but the best way I have found to get comments to a post is to ask.

Stick a ‘what do you think?’ at the end of the post.

Or a ‘Do you agree?’

Or if you are up for it, pick a fight about your topic. Play the devil’s advocate.

Go to another blog that is related to your topic and find someone who doesn’t agree with your position and leave a comment there with a link back to the post where you wrote your contrary position. Perhaps that will lure them and the readers there to your site.

Or you might just ask:

What is the best way you have found to get people to leave a comment at your site?

And see if anybody responds.

Sorry…I have comments turned off here. Too much spam and not enough time to answer/respond to the legitimate comments that do come.
