I was recently introduced to Blogging as an effective Inbound Marketing tool. Something that I had managed to ignore till then. But not anymore.
During the course of my Marketing With Social Media class, I saw a whole class of non-believers slowly turning into believers.
What do we believe now? That Content is King? We all knew that.
That Social Media is the way for increased clicks? Duh, we are not that dumb either!!
We came to believe that Blogging can actually help us earn money, that it is fun and that if you are creative, it can generate backlinks for you in a way that you never even imagined.
As an SEO, I was always fighting that never ending battle with Google to keep my backlinks for the website up and running and get them to matter too. Did it help? Honestly, not much. I was always a thousand steps behind Google and could not think of any other way. Until Now.
And that is BLOGGING!!!!
Blog away and you will get the traffic to grow exponentially on your blog. Right? Not Entirely. Why? Because no matter how great your content is, until and unless it gets in front of the people who matter, it is not going to help you. Then whats the way out? Simple. Increase your website traffic with Guest posting.
Simply writing a great blog and expecting others to listen to you is like blowing your own horn.
And we do not want to be caught doing that!
We have to reach out to the people and bring them back. The only way to do that is to write guest posts for other publications and blogs and be seen and heard by people who matter and who’s content is relevant to ours.
The benefits of Guest Posting? Apart from getting in touch with your target audience, you get to build your credibility, attract new subscribers and increase traffic on your own websites/blogs.
As a part of our course curriculum, we were supposed to write guest posts on each others’ blogs as well as Prof. Bill Belew’s. I could not understand the purpose of this exercise until I researched more into it and found out that you can actually increase your visibility with Guest Posting.
Even though I am starting out relatively small, just providing weekly updates about my blogging strategies and my plan for the next week, I guess this is going to help me a lot when I start some serious Guest Blogging apart from posting for my classmates.
Do you have some blogging tips? Want to share with us? Great!! Be a guest writer for us and tell us how things work for you.
