I have learnt and progressed since then. I started with a small idea and it now has grown into something that is more relevant and with a lot more data.
As weeks have passed I have understood how to blog and how to write and let thoughts just ‘Flow’ into words. All posts on my Music site are about my experiences and my thoughts about what music is today, and what/how I felt every time I heard a song, artist or a live festival.
After reading Professor Belew’s post about SEO principles, I have realized that if I can keep doing this right, and long I can go through the same experiences as professor Bill mentioned in his post.
Understanding blogging and its principles also indirectly leads to understanding SEO principles as mentioned in his another post. When the post count increases, so do the views and so people visiting the site. This is where SEO principles come in. You want Google to search and find your posts, and maybe make some money for you.
Right now, the views on my website haven’t reached a significant number to make me some money, but that’s also partly because the content I have is limited to a niche crowd, and also there are a lot of sites that contains the same information that I have. But as time goes by, I am confident that this will change.
One thing I learned in the process is to be persistent and keep at it. if you have content that is good, it WILL be picked up and it will bring in the views that you need. Maybe one day, I can dream to get free rides to all the festivals and artist conventions, get money in the process, and bring my experiences out to the world.
Blogging has also taught me to open up, and share experiences. I am very proud of my knowledge in music and the ability I have grown since I was in my early teens. Even though I may be kind of introvert, this( blogging) has let me open up to the world, and maybe find people who have had similar experiences and understand and feel what I feel.
Blogging is something not everyone’s cup of tea. One has to be persistent, stick to the goal and see the bigger picture. Having and sharing from your heart is the key to having posts that are relevant, and at a consistent pace. The Professors website has helped me understand the principles of blogging and my website will help anyone understand music.
