by STIMULUS….ON THE GO!
Here are the few things I did to keep myself motivated:
1. Stop writing about topics you have no longer anything new to add to.
2. Select topics which you are excited and passionate about.
You need to check The Big Screen category of my blog. I have written about movies I saw during my commute each day. Also, I enjoyed watching the movie Shall We Dance? So, when one of the classmates asked me to do a guest post on her blog, I was more than happy to do so.
3. Blog about anything that gets your attention.
My post on Cloverleaf Building in Chicago is one such example. The Bertrand Goldberg-designed clover-shaped building is one the most distinctive structures in Chicago and currently the fate of the building is undecided. I blogged about it because I was concerned about the future of this pioneer design work.
Long ago, I did a small documentary on India’s transgenders. My interaction with them gave me an insight to their lives and moved me. I have also blogged about their identity crisis of this segment of our population.
4. Blog about anything you have learnt recently.
Share the newly gained knowledge — be it a skill, topic, or a new vocation you have learnt about.
5. Read other people’s blog.
It can give you new ideas for topics and something to say about.
I browsed through the blog Overcome Your Barriers and felt the need to share my views. Thus, ended up writing a guest blog post on moral policing in India.
6. Share an experience with others.
A first hand experience is lot easier to write about and share with others as you are familiar with the feelings, thought process and mental blocks faced while experiencing it. I blogged about my Bank of America Chicago Marathon in which I participated last year.
7. Share your opinions, reviews or angst
Blog about a recent book you are reading. Do you want to share your views on anything that is bothering you? Use your blog to VOICE your opinions, fears, concerns, feedback, angst or talk about people who inspire you.
I thought I will never say this but blogging can be fun.
