When I saw Professor’s email announcement regarding this week’s assignment, “How do you fit blogging in your daily routine”. I instantly thought my life was different just 4 weeks ago when I was not a blogger.
As I mentioned in my previous post, Weekly update #3- how to stay motivated to blog- by Healthy Wealthy Witty that how I came out of the denial phase and have started to enjoy blogging apart from just enjoying it. It has also fit into my daily routine. Many bloggers would adjust their routine to do a lot of research and early morning post during the day.
Initially fitting blogging in my daily routine was a challenge as I work full time. Because of which, I was behind in my assignments for the first 2 weeks (made me upset). Then I decided to change things. I started spending about 45 minutes a day to research. Then about another 45 minutes to write a quality content using Prof. Bill‘s cheat sheet with blogging must do’s. Soon, I realized I caught on a pace. I was able to do more research to write more content. As Prof. Bill says, “Quantity matters. If you want to succeed in your niche of writing, write more than your competitor.”
For the past week, I have been able to write a couple of 500-600 words article every day by spending about 2 and a half hours per day. One would ask how do I make that time? Let me explain.
Unfortunately, I am not a 5 am riser. I get up at 7:30 and leave in 30 minutes to catch the train (busiest half an hour of the day). I have about 45 minutes commuting to work (one way). Because these days we get free WiFi on trains, that helps!
The first thing I do is over the weekend, I create a list of things I want to write about. Then, every day in the morning I do research and during lunch I draft the articles according to the guidelines by Prof. Bill (i.e.adding. Images, proper internal, external and back links). On my way back home while in the train, I, then end up writing and give the article a final touch and either publish or schedule them to get published. At night after, dinner, I will start my research for the next days’ topic.
Although I have caught on a regular pace, but over the next few weeks, I am striving to write more content, more articles- 5 a day. So stay tuned and I will let you know if I succeed or fail.
And don’t forget to check my blog for about health, healthy foods, tempting foods, healthy living, healthy lifestyle and lot more.
Cheers !! 🙂
