Blogging for money tip #51 and good content strategy #9 is the last in the series of blogging for money and content marketing.
The Long Tail in Content Marketing
I want to mention the long tail.
A post will usually get as much traffic (more) as it does after the first bit of traffic it gets.
If a post gets found by social media, and gets passed around, there is an initial surge. The long tail means the amount of traffic that will come in subsequent days will exceed the initial spike.
A content marketer will want to write posts that have initial appeal. And when/if it does, the blogger can count on that post to get at least that much more traffic or more over the long term.
This kind of post is golden… good for traffic numbers, good for income, good for branding. Good all around
Write good stuff, expect it to be found, and anticipate readers for the long run.
Then do it again.
