I started out blogging 10 weeks ago, not knowing a thing about how it works. I had heard the word “blog” for a long time but never got down to understanding or realizing its value and power. I assumed it was just an online diary for people to pour their hearts into and publish it for the world to read.
How wrong was I?
After 10 weeks of blogging, not only have I learned a lot about what blogging actually is and what it can do for a business, but I have learned a lot about myself as well.
I now know what a powerful tool blog can be for a business. We are living in the social media obsessed world, but numbers prove that social media alone cannot get you money, blogs can! I have realized why blogs are king of social media and how they trump social media in many ways. That is not to say social media isn’t important, because it is. It is just revelation to me that blogs are so much powerful but yet they are still not as popular as these social media websites. Any new business owner should make use of this fact and capitalize on the fact that blogs CAN and WILL get you money, if you stick to it and stay consistent. Bill Belew, who is an SEO expert and a professional blogger, emphasizes on the important of blogging and how that helps in content marketing
Blogging has taught me a lot on a personal level as well. The research I do for writing any post makes me read more and thus learn more. It has also made me very disciplined! The idea of writing a certain number of blogs per day makes you stick to a schedule religiously! I have also become better at time management. Blogging takes time and I have a lot of other things to juggle apart from blogging. Yet somehow I am able to manage it all. That really surprises me still!
All in all, blogging has been a very rewarding experience for me. It has been a very fruitful journey and I intend to continue my quest to become a successful blogger one day!
